Learn MyEV: Preparing to use MyEV for small plot research

About this Event

Calling all Extension faculty, educators, crop consultants and growers! This online training will provide the necessary background data set up, tools, and resources you need to use the MyEV (My Efficient Vineyard) platform. MyEV is an open-access tool developed from the Efficient Vineyard Project and is used to integrate vineyard data into vineyard maps that can inform farm management decision-making. Participants will learn what and how to prepare for gathering data from small plot trials and how to take existing data and upload to MyEV to evaluate visual maps. The presenters will walk steps required to effectively use past and new data from a small-scale plot trial. The event is free but be sure to register in advance for access to the webinar. The event will be recorded and made available to all who register.

Speakers:
Terry Bates, Senior Research Associate & Director, Cornell Lake Erie Research & Extension Lab, Cornell AgriTech
Dr. Terry Bates has been working on vineyard nutrition for decades in New York’s juice and wine grape growing regions. He led the Efficient Vineyard Project, a federally funded research project in precision viticulture that led to the creation of MyEV. He works with precision viticulture research and its applications for grape growers through such applications as yield monitoring, crop load management, and variable rate fertilization.
Nick Gunner, Owner & Software Developer, Orbitist
Nicholas is an independent software developer specializing in cloud-based mapping tools. He has worked closely with Cornell’s guidance to develop the myEV software platform that will be discussed in this webinar training.
Seminar Host:
Patty Skinkis, Professor & Viticulture Extension Specialist, Oregon State University
Dr. Patty Skinkis is a project co-director in the HiRes Vineyard Nutrition Project, where she is leading development of outreach and educational programs from the research developed by the team. She has been working with wine grape producers in Oregon for 17 years as the statewide Viticulture Extension specialist, conducting applied research, developing outreach, and teaching in courses in viticulture. She also is the host of the HiRes Vineyard Nutrition Podcast.
